Artist Statement
Gabriela González (she/they) is a queer poet and fiction writer of Afro-Caribbean ancestry born and raised in New York City. She was a Summer 2026 Poetry Fellow with Abode Press and has been published in Voicemail Poems. Gabi is currently working on their debut novel, a work of queer, contemporary fiction exploring the tendrils of gentrification in Washington Heights, alongside a debut poetry collection. Her work investigates grief, lineage, queerness, and pleasure. They live in Brooklyn.
